2014 St Georges
St Georges Day on 23rd April we had our usual successful fun day, when all members were in appropriate red and white dress. There was a good players turn out which allowed us to play a competition devised by Jim Pike who took the Captains role for the day.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, especial Robin Sparks, Eileen Phoenix and yours truly who were overall winners. Jim presented the trophy made especially by Ron Lloyd on the Miraflores patio after the competition.
After the game everyone joined their friends and family on the patio to sit and enjoy the afternoon’s entertainment and have a very nice buffet. We used the new bowler’s wooden tables which Anthony Jackson kindly made for us.
John Lodge was in his usual excellent self hosting the day withlots of fun games and games. We then had the star entertainment of the day with Matt Black, singing Rock and Roll songs all afternoon and enjoying lots of dancing and really having a marvelous day.
On behalf of all our members we thank Bengiman and all kitchen / bar staff for putting the icing on the cake in the way they supported all attendees.
