2011 Inaugural Cup

The round-robin mixed pairs the Inaugural Cup was played on Monday 28^th   and Friday 4^th March during indifferent weather. Sixteen pairs took part playing three games of maximum eight ends each day.

The first day the easy leaders were Graham and Cath Patrick, followed by Mike Hendry and Peggy Pinn closely followed by John and Sue Mannall. However apart from Graham and Cath the difference in points were very close.

The second day was played on a very dry challenging green. Wayne and Carol Roberts won with Les Pratchett and Rona Hendry just two points behind and Norman and Maureen Atkins in third place which was very pleasing for them after their nightmare first day.

As points are awarded for wins, draw and ends won, one can never really predict the eventual winners. This proved to be the case with the final games of the competition giving different feelings of pleasure and disappointment. The eventual clear winners were Les Pratchett and Rona Hendry with second and third separated by two shots putting the first day easy winners, Graham and Cath Patrick into second place and Wayne and Carol Roberts, third.

 Jim Pike expressed how well the competion had gone and gave thanks to Maureen Atkins for her usual expert production of schedule and score cards and myself for the running of the competition. Cash prizes were presented to the first three pairs and a bonus for Dick and Maria Pinkster who was booby prize winners.
