2017 All Clubs Get Together Dinner & Dance – Hotel Rural 10th October
This new occasion was planned and very successfully run by Rod and Lyn Band with Sue Mannall. 171 people from all local clubs plus several guests sat down on large tables of ten all from different clubs to hopefully ensure the unique idea of meeting new people was achieved. On one table with players from different clubs who hadn’t met before this evening, Eileen and Roy Ritson who had taught with Bob and Ann Pearson 30 years ago at the Blakelaw School in Newcastle, an amazing and pleasant surprise. ( see the photograph of them together ) I am sure there were other fascinating stories that can be told.
The service was excellent, food was delicious and the group kept all entertained, dancing away the night. The general opinion of the evening was what a fantastic idea and thoroughly enjoyed by all and requesting this should be an annual event which hopefully it will now be. Once again thanks to Rod, Lyn and Sue for a great evening
