2012 Reliant Trophy ( Drawn Triples)
John and Sue Mannall are once again organizing and running the summer competitions superbly. This year there were a few changes made to maintain the continued interest throughout for the summer members (Sunseekers.)
As well as the Reliant Trophy (drawn triples) and the Elena McCraw (drawn pairs) other additional competitions, Hong Kong Pairs and Singles were arranged and will be reported on as they are completed later in the summer.
The Reliant Trophy was shortened to thirteen weeks. The top six players who had achieved their best scores from a minimum eight games played. The teams were drawn for the final on the 16th July.
The worthy winners were John Fitzgerald, Ruth Compton and Sue Mannall who lost the first end but then progressed steadily without losing the lead. Jim Pike,Pat Byatt and Chris Ewer were unable to break Johns team’s confidence.
